Synopsis
War has come. The entire population of Tel Aviv is evacuated. Except at the last minute, Saba—the grandfather of Naor—steps off the bus, drawing the young man and his girlfriend Yaël into a clandestine drift through the now-deserted city.
A high-stakes survival experience amplified by three: three souls whose bonds erase generations—Saba, the Beckettian survivor with forgotten ambitions; Yaël, the gifted artist with unbroken ideals; and Naor, the wide-eyed film student.
In a bombarded city turned playground, a paradoxical cocoon for reinvented innocence, Evacuation is a tale without moralizing, a bubble of poetry ripped from the entrails of present history, an urban ode to the desire for life and peace.
